Lovalian
Heritage
Regardless of an individual’s Culture, their ancestors likely come from one of the following groups which determines a few of their notable physical characteristics.
For Lovalians, this mainly affects the appearance of their eyes, their skin and hair tones, and their most likely body type. Since Lovalians don’t change too drastically from their birth heritage, it is usually easy enough to distinguish where their ancestors are from by their appearance.
Note: Your Heritage choice is purely for storytelling and may have narrative implications, but will not affect your characters stats, attributes, skills, or abilities.
The features listed below are the most common for each specific Heritage group, but features that are not mentioned will default to the typical physicality found on the Biology page.

Magnun
“Kingslanders”
Location of origin: Grand Poraval, Oakenheim, Aurania, and the major settlements along the Lovalian trade routes
Many Magnuns can trace their heritage back to some type of nobility from thousands of years ago, when the Lovalian king Magnus held court in the first established monarchy in recorded history. Their connection to those times of Lovalian pride have lead them to populate the vast majority of the Altoval culture.
The Magnuns are a glaring result of the consistent and slow-but-steady lifestyles of Lovalian people. The most notable feature of Magnuns is their darker hair colors (for Lovalians, anyway, these colors are fairly light compared to real-life humans), likely due to their more seasonal valley and lake land environments. More sun exposure has also lead them to exhibit more color in the face with rosy and peachy complexions compared to the other groups.

Common Features
SKIN
warmer and neutral complexions
HAIR
✤ Darkest average hair tones of light brown, auburn, and strawberry blonde
EYES
Mono-eyelids are dominant
Cool Tones: Lavender, periwinkle, indigo, cyan, and teal
Graaven
“Gardeners”
Location of origin: Lovalian valley countrysides, woodlands, forests, and foothills
Once a multitude of smaller, squabbling Tok clans fighting over mastery of the mountain highland region during the height of the Kingdom of Lovalia, the Graaven united and grew into an industrious people who are considered masters of many of the Lovalian handmade goods to this day. While they have lived historically less scholastic lives than their Magnun brethren, they have been the same for ages, preferring to live provincially in the countrysides, woodlands, forests, and foothills outside of urban Lovalia.
The Graaven make up the majority of the Greunval people.

Common Features
BODY
Stronger [Thicc, Built, Brawny]
HAIR

EYES
Mono-eyelids are common
Earth Tones: Green, hazel, and brown
Andevun
“Free Spirits”
Location of origin: The Gilded Crescent, Aurgelmir mountain range, and other mountain peak territories
Coming from the communities of ancient Tok people who challenged themselves to live in the highest heights of the fringe territories of Lovalia, the Andevun people have established some of the most difficult to reach settlements, mountain passes, and monasteries in the entire world. In the earliest days, these people were simply a wind-worshiping, monastic clan who would explore and scale the heights of the precipitous peaks. However, when the Kingdom of Lovalia came into power, the Adevun people’s monasteries grew in popularity as pilgrimage sites for all dedicated Lovalians looking to find the greatest Avaari tattoo artists. Even after the decline of the Kingdom and waning interest in the monastic pilgrimage itself, the spike in their population had already created a unique group that still exists in strong numbers today.
People of Andevun heritage make up the majority of the Norloval population.

SKIN
✤ Pale, ghostly complexions
Desaturated greys and whites
HAIR
Grey, blue, and silver
EYES

Tödisdun
“Wastelanders”
Location of origin: Northern tundra and ice wastes
A disparate and almost unknown smattering of fracture tribes, it’s thought that the Tödisdun were originally people of the Andevun tribes who continued their journey of self-discovery and personal challenge by setting out into the most frozen and desolate northern ice wastes. Some of these Lovalians have built a life amongst the geothermal pools and crevices that offer refuge from the frozen coastal winds and icy plateaus that surround them. With the land offering little in the way of sustenance, they became adept at harvesting the bounty of the sea and becoming intimately familiar with navigating the northern icecaps.
This isolationism and harsh environment has transformed the Tödisdun people into distinct stone-like giants, with unique grey and slate tones of skin that almost make them look like they were carved from the mountains themselves.
Almost all of these people are part of the Norloval culture, though they are a tiny population.

Common Features

Krünnun
“Crownlanders”
Location of origin: mixed Tok heritage, and anywhere in the world
In times past, some brave travelers amongst Lovalians dared to venture down to experience all the world had to offer. They explored southward, along the converging mountain ranges that flank the primal Sylvan ancestral lands. It is thought that, after the fall of the Kingdom of Lovalia, many of these people decided not to return to their own northerly Frostland home, instead settling down in the Crownlands instead. Despite their separation from their greater communities, these Krünnun flourished among their new neighbors. They have remained surprisingly similar to the general Lovalian people, but because of their somewhat integrated villages and settlements, they have taken on a softened appearance from their typical Lovalian features: namely much warmer complexions and even more colorful tones of hair and dark eyes.

Common Features
SKIN
✤ Warmest complexions
EYES
✤ Mid-tones of brown, blue, and green
OTHER
