Bodren
Overview
Children of the Water
The Bodren have always had a deep respect for the natural world, especially the temperate and wetland environments in which they thrive. They draw guidance and lessons from their instinctual connection to nature and the wild world around them.
Although Bodren reach physical maturity at about the same age as a real-life human, their understanding of adulthood goes beyond physical growth to encompass worldly experience. Living many centuries gives them a broad perspective on events that might trouble the shorter-lived races more deeply. They are more often amused than excited, more likely to be curious than greedy, and tend to remain aloof and unfazed by petty happenstance. When pursuing a goal such as adventuring, learning a new skill, or practicing an art, Bodren are focused and relentless. They are slow to make friends and enemies, and even slower to forget them.
Bodren have benefited greatly from their integration with the non-Sylvan people of the world. They trust in diplomacy and compromise to resolve differences before they escalate to violence, having influenced many great houses, governments, and Land leaders and developing a reputation as incredible advisors, strategists, and even leaders themselves. Historically, the Bodren people have chosen to avoid conflict whenever possible, but when the need arises they have been known to reveal a quick-cutting side, demonstrating their natural dexterity with grace and precision.
Sylvan Supergroup
Today, the Sylvan people all differ dramatically in outward appearance, and though they don’t all share as many outward physical similarities, they are all connected in a way that supports their label as descendants of the same Primal Sylvan species. The Sylvan group includes the Faekin, Bodren and Fangren people.
