Heritage
Regardless of an individual’s Culture, their ancestors likely come from one of the following groups which determines a few of their notable physical characteristics.
For Faekin, this mainly affects their wings and ears, but may also influence facial features and body type. In most cases, heritage is directly linked to the place they were born and the cultures who historically make up the population there, but it is also influenced by their biological parents’ heritage.
Note: Your Heritage choice is purely for storytelling and may have narrative implications, but will not affect your characters stats, attributes, skills, or abilities.
The features listed below are the most common for each specific Heritage group, but features that are not mentioned will default to the typical physicality found on the Biology page. You can find the general physical traits on the main Species page.

Lynshae
[LIN•shee]
“Children of the Clouds of the Valley”
aka “Primal Fae”
Location of origin: Harmonious Glen and the Imperial Crownlands Valley
These Faekin are born in the ancient Sylvan homeland, the origin of all Sylvan people. They will grow wings that resemble those of butterflies. The wings can be anywhere from shiny to matte, but exhibit a distinctly opaque nature. They are typically similar to natural Faekin skin tones, but can be adjusted based on each individual’s personal tastes. Lynshae ears are typically the most outright horizontal, sharply pointing away from the head.
Almost all Lynshae exist within the native Nymbi culture, but some have taken on identities in the Crownlands and a few other urban areas in the Wyndi culture.
The Lynshae are divided into four main groups, depending on their region of origin within the Harmonious Glen. They are shown below

LYNSHAE
Woodfolk
Location of origin: Eastern Glen
Woodfolk have a three-sectioned wing shape. The upper two triangular sections are often joined, while the lower, single section is a downward-angled triangular shape. Spending a great deal of time in the shaded woodlands, Woodfolk often develop lighter skin tones

Mistkin
Location of origin: Southern Glen
Those of Mistkin lineage often sport what appears to be one large triangular wing on each side, with no separated sections. Their wings rarely point above the height of the head, and are the smallest Primal Faekin wings on average.

Caelian
Location of origin: Northern Glen
Caelians have wings that are naturally ostentatious with highly detailed patterns. Their upper wings are likely the widest and most noticeable of all the Fae. Their lower wings usually have a ‘tail’ on the bottom. In the sunny meadows, these Fae have developed the brightest and boldest of natural skin colors.

Location of origin: Western Glen
These Faekin have simpler wings, with a clearly defined upper and lower section. The upper section is often pointed and extends far above the height of the head. The lower section is rounder and distinctly smaller. Usually one bright or bold color with a distinctive, darker colored outline. Sceptarians often sport bolder and darker colors of skin. Their ears protrude at a less prominent angle away from the head.

Twyllinshae
[TWILL•in•shee]
“Children who Twinkle in Cool Darkness”
aka “Frostfae”
Location of origin: Lovalia & Grimlands
These Faekin are born in the underground caverns beneath the Loval Mountains, which are brimming with energy from the magical wellsprings that run to the deepest core of the Beanut Lands world. They grow wings that resemble the powdery or fluffy wings of moths. While they often appear as a warning to would-be predators by appearing as a fearsome face or eyes, many socialized Twyllinshae adjust their wing’s patterns to be less off-putting.
Twyllinshae ears are often angled slightly downward, and commonly have more of a wide surface area than other Fae ears.
Twyllinshae are primarily part of the Sylki culture, but many have taken to traveling the world a bit further than the underground land.

Shaehali
“Children of the Open Sky”
aka “Wildwings”
Location of origin: any major urban location
These Faekin, who are born outside the traditional locations of Sylvan power, are influenced not by any single source of magic, but by the latent energies present in the plants, creatures, and even people that surround them in the greater world. This diverse and connected energy produces unique wings that resemble the elongated, six-wing style of dragonflies and other insects. Though mostly translucent, the Shaehali wings have a subtle coloring that can be observed more closely to reveal the most intricate of patterning and swirling colors, unlike the others. The colors of them can be adjusted based on each individual’s personal tastes, but always remain mostly translucent.
Shaehali ears commonly point at an upward angle, like classic elven ears.
Even the Shaehali, who have spent their lives in the greater world, do not often take non-Sylvan cultures due to the differing values, traditions, and trends of people with short lifespans. Those who do take non-native cultures will typically take other Sylvan ones

These people were exiled from the rest of the world, forced to live with the shame of their actions, and they eventually succumbed to the curse they wrought.
