Willonian
Heritage
Regardless of an individual’s Culture, their ancestors likely come from one of the following groups which determines a few of their notable physical characteristics.
For Willonians, this mainly affects their visual appearance pre-adulthood, as Varian people have the most potential for natural, physical changes over the course of their lives. Due to their dramatically distinct borders within Willonia, the Heritage choices for Willonians are fairly extensive.
Note: Your Heritage choice is purely for storytelling and may have narrative implications, but will not affect your characters stats, attributes, skills, or abilities.
The features listed below are the most common for each specific Heritage group, but features that are not mentioned will default to the typical physicality found on the Biology page. You can find the general physical traits on the main Species page.

Daughtét
[daw•TEH]
Location of origin: Willonian Lakelands
Daughtét people hail from the most heavily urbanized region of Willonia, which is centered around the capitol city, High Daughton. The people of this summery lakeland region have developed softer body types and darker hair and skin colors, as well as a good likelihood of visible freckles, moles, and birthmarks. These are likely due to their warmer climate, and proximity to the Hinlands to the south.
While Daughtét people make up the vast majority of the most populous province in Willonia proper, they have also have no reservations about starting new lives elsewhere, and many have become adventurers and merchants taking on other cultures.

Morrthani
[mor•THAH•nee]
Location of origin: Northern Willonian riverlands, and northwestern coastal areas
On the northernmost coastlands of Willonia, nestled between the Crownlands and the north sea, the people of the Port Province have been given the name “Morrthani”, after the capitol city Morrtham. Experiencing a wide diversity of lifestyles, this historic province is known as the original landing place of the Willonians in centuries past. While the people here don’t often show drastically unique characteristics, due to its historic nature and ties to all of Willonia, the Morrthani trend toward the mid-range on both hair and skin tones. Tan, brown, and olive complexions are extremely common for the natives of this province, as well are mid-range hair colors ranging from dirty blonde to brown, auburn, and grey. Likely due to their adjacency to the Armadian cultures of the west, the Morrthani people have a tendency to value physical achievement and hard work, so they are more inclined toward more fit, strength-focused body types.
Morrthani people may be separated from their Westland Armadian cultural folks by the structural government of Willonia, but they still retain much of the same ideals and lifestyles.

Gintyn
[GIN•tin]
Location of origin: Willonian highlands and northeastern coastal areas
The people of the northern highlands province of Ginty Norlands are often seen as more provincial, gruff, and worn than the other provinces, linking them more closely to the Westland people. Though this area is just west of the seasonal province of Baodethia, the craggy landscape and chilly northern winds have made this region home to those who choose to live off the cooler province with pride and resilience. The Gintyn people often sport hair in reds, orange, and gold, bright and fiery. They trend towards lighter, neutral eye colors, most commonly grey and greens. Their hardy homeland leads them to develop more strong or stocky body types as opposed to thin or soft.
Gintyn people have a fairly split variety of cultures in their province, though most of them are intentionally independent from the greater Willonian government. Those who live in the capitol city of Braghlen are the most influenced by the Colonian culture, but the rest are primarily Nolian and Armadian cultures.

Baodethian
[BAO•deth•ee•enn]
Location of origin: Willonian Baodethia province
On the northeastern fields in the province of Baodethia, the weather is much more temperate, thanks to the cool breezes from the northern sea. While the southern warm fronts keep the summers hot, the people of Baodethia have been blessed by a mostly seasonal region. Because of this, the Baodethians have a great diversity in complexion and hair colors, from pale to dark. Their body types trend toward the weaker end of the body types, as a testament to their comfortable suburban location, which has allowed most of these people a convenience that many other Lands do not have. However, over the ages, it appears that beauty standards (or perhaps simple chance) have lead these people to genetically pass down a unique shade of striking pure-blue eye color that is rarely seen in other Willonian people.
The Province of Baodethia has been one of the regions most heavily influenced by Colonian society, as they have been a refuge for the industrious, porogressive ideologies that are otherwise challenged by the diversity of the capitol of High Daughton.

Sheplander
[SHEP•lan•der]
Location of origin: Eastern willonian countryside
While not everyone in the Sheplands province is a laborer, it is clear that the people who live work-centric lifestyles such as farmers and ranchers have had the most influence on Sheplander genetics. Trending toward tan and olive skintones, darker hair colors, and thicker, more load-bearing body types, the majority of Sheplanders stem from the rustic field folk who established themselves in the easternmost region of Willonia many centuries ago.
Shepland Province has been fairly balanced between Colonian and Nolian lifestyles, but many of the Sheplander people, particularly those in areas bordering the Heartlands, have even taken on the Deltren culture that is present in their neighboring Land.

Valensch
[va•LEN•sh]
Location of origin: Western province of Willory Woodlands
Woodlands exist everywhere in Willonia, but none are so extensive as the dark Valendorn wood of the Willory Plains in the shadow of the Royal Crown mountains. The people who hail from this region have lived in an area with such reduced sun exposure that they exhibit some of the palest Willonian skin tones on average, even rivaling some Lovalian complexions. Oddly, though, the Valensch people most commonly have purely black, raven, and cool, dark hair colors. They often develop similar skin markings as the Daughtét, such as freckles and moles.
Originating in one of the smaller provinces, the populations of Valensch people share much of the region with the local Hensch people of the mountains, and have been influenced heavily by their traditional, Hinnish-cultural attitudes. Most of the Valensch people live in the lowlands out of the mountain ridges, which is more clearly operating under the lifestyles of the rest of Willonian cultures.

Hensch
[HEN•sh]
Location of origin: Western province of Willory Woodlands and the Royal Crown mountains, and those with Hinfolk parentage
Believed to be some of the earliest Willonians to fully shed the previous naval-based societies, the Hensch people have settled up in the mountain ridges and foothills of western Willonia. From a strategic standpoint, the ridgelands of old Willory were a prime location for defense against the abominable wildlife, and their perseverance in this region allowed many of its ancestral people, the southern neighboring Wildwood Hinfolk, to thrive in fellowship with the other people of the world again. In the modern day, the generations of landlocked life, as well as the higher altitudes, have molded these people into something like a taller, paler version of the Hinfolk themselves. In fact, the Wildwood Hinfolk and Hensch people are often considered the same group of people, just from two different historical groups that are slowly re-merging into one.
Influenced more by their integration with the Hinfolk of the mountains, most of the Hensch people come from cultures that do not abide by the traditional strictures of Willonian society.

Florene
[flor•een]
Location of origin: The Heartlands, Brittle Bog, and Nettle Forest
Many Willonians, upon the establishment of a safer and protected Willonian Land, decided to entirely set off in search of a new life in the neighboring Sylvan-populated Lands to the east. The Florene people are the ones who have lived for generations in these locations, which are uniquely influenced by the auric energies and Sylvan lifestyles of their inhabitants. The Florene people, while they still resemble their other Willonian people, have taken on slightly more colorful complexions that often make them appear as a unique species entirely. Most uniquely, they have developed more hues of hair color that other Willonians don’t naturally possess.
As most Florene people live in regions mostly populated by Sylvan people, most Florene people are of Sylvan cultures, though there are still a few Sylvan cultures that don’t make sense for them, such as Sylki and Merdren.

Sturling
[STURR•ling]
Location of origin: Westland territories and coastal locations
The rocky coastlands of Westland are home to people who have shunned much of Willonian society, so much so that they have retained much of their old seafaring ideals and governmental structures. Armadian Culture has heavily influenced their people so much that the Sturling Heritage is one of the most physically recognizable of all Willonian people. Sturling Willonians usually have light hair colors, bleached of their color from the salt and sea. While most Willonians have colorful eyes, the Sturling’s deep-set, piercing, pale eyes have a fierce look that has been passed down for generations. They are taller and stockier than most other Willonian people on average, appearing almost like a larger species entirely.
Sturling people are overwhemlingly Armadian.

Velden
[VELL•den]
Location of origin: Imperial Crownlands, northern Frostlands, and those with mixed-Varian parentage
Hailing from the Crownlands regions, the Velden live within the alpine valleys, forests, mountains, and settlements of Imperial society. Because they are nestled snugly between the Royal Crown and Rocky Crown mountains, the altitude and chilly environment have predisposed the more rural people to develop light hair colors and pale, pink skin tones, but this is only in relation to native Crownlanders. While they still have a good diversity, thanks to their large and populated homeland, Velden from more urban Crownlands environments have integrated so heavily with other Varian species that their genetic diversity could easily cause them to be mistaken for any other Willonian Heritage.
Velden people are primarily of the Crownlands cultures, but many have followed roads elsewhere, making them the most diverse Willonian heritage group in cultures all across the world.
