Torgali
Heritage
Regardless of an individual’s Culture, their ancestors likely come from one of the following groups which determines a few of their notable physical characteristics.
For Torgali, this mainly affects their fangs, but also influences their genetic predisposition to certain body types, hair textures, and skin tones. In most cases, heritage is directly linked to the place they were born and the cultures who historically make up the population there, but it is also influenced by their biological parents’ heritage.
Note: Your Heritage choice is purely for storytelling and may have narrative implications, but will not affect your characters stats, attributes, skills, or abilities.
The features listed below are the most common for each specific Heritage group, but features that are not mentioned will default to the typical physicality found on the Biology page. You can find the general physical traits on the main Species page.

Takaimo
“Tower Life”
Location of origin: Kartakaum Valley
Connected by their reliance and reverence the great, constant river of Kartakaum, these Torgali originate from the valleys and surrounding tropical riverlands of Torgalia. As their central city of Kartakai has dominated culture for millennia, these people have been molded by dense populations headed by feudal, dynastic leadership. Often characterized by their unusually straight, silken hair, these Torgali also tend to have smaller-than-average fangs.
Takaimo people are overwhelmingly part of the Kartaki culture, though some have taken on other native Torgali cultures as well.

HAIR
✤ Straight, Smooth texture
FANGS
Smaller than average
Ma Pakkura
“Long Fangs”
Location of origin: Ma-Pak-Kura Wilds
The Longfangs are often considered the closest to the “Primal” Tok giants of old, as they are the largest and fiercest hunters of the deepest rainforests, jungles, and mountain foothills deep in the heart of Torgalia. Heavily isolated and survivalist, these people exhibit some of the most intimidating fangs of all Torgali people, almost tusk-like in their prominence. Due to their obsession with ritual scarification, the Longfangs have evolved with thicker, more roughly-shaped ears than other Torgali.
Most Ma Pakkura exist within the Tenkabi culture.

Common Features
BODY
Stronger [Thicc, Built, Medium, Brawny]
SKIN
Darker, green leaning
FANGS
✤ Longest, tusk-like fangs

Korkatsu
“Jawbone”
Location of origin: The Elder Fang Mountains
These Torgali people trace their lineage back to the once-nomadic clans who ventured into the imposing Elder Fang mountains and never left. Because of this unique, native cold and precipitous environment, Korkatsu Torgali tend to store more layers of fat, as well as growing more body hair. They also have the greatest potential of all the Torgali people to grow full beards and facial hair.
Korkatsu are mostly Tenkabi culture, as they are incredibly isolated from other Torgali cultural areas.

Common Features
BODY
Heavyweight [Rotund, Thicc, Built]
SKIN
Lighter complexions
HAIR
Facial hair and body hair are more common
Fangali
“People of the Forest”
Location of origin: Elderwood Deep, Nettle Forest
Colloquially named for their proximity to the native Fangren people of the Nettle Forest, the Fangali originated as the Torgali nomads who settled in the ridgelands and valleys of the Nettle Forest, just on the western side of Torgalia. They are sometimes referred to as “Uplanders” because of the Upland Reach region they call home. While they once shared much in common with the Korkatsu, the Fangali have lived in a dramatically different environment. This has changed them into a generally less intimidating subgroup, with softened facial features, smaller fangs, and more upturned ear points.
Fangali are somewhat split between their ancestral Tenkabi culture and the Tangleroot culture of the surrounding Fangren people.

Common Features
BODY
Shorter than average
Midweight [Soft, Medium, Brawny]
SKIN
Green hues are the most common
FANGS
Smaller than average

Ankuri
“Coastlanders”
Location of origin: Torgalia Coastlands
Coastal life has created a unique group of people in the Edgeland Torgali, who originated as scattered clans on the extensive, tropical coastline of Torgalia. Spanning hundreds of kilofeters, the coastlands are blessed by great bounty for these communities, allowing them to soak up the sun and pleasures of life. Because of this, the Edgeland Torgali tend to have richer and darker skin tones, in reds and browns, and can even develop lighter brown hair, though that is uncommon. Their genetics predispose them towards heavyweight body types due to cultural standards that celebrate a well-fed lifestyle.
Most of the Ankuri exist in their native coastal culture of Mau’kali, but few who have migrated southwest have taken on the coastal Canzian culture of the Ukamimba.

Common Features
BODY
Heavyweight [Rotund, Thicc, Built]
SKIN
Darker, Reddish tones
HAIR
✤ Includes rarer, lighter tones of red and brown
Igali
“New World People”
Location of origin: Imperial Crownlands and other urban environments
While the modern Torgali have only entered the wider world in significant numbers in recent centuries, since the landing of the Willonians, this has not stopped them from establishing themselves in other cultural communities. These people sport the smallest average fangs of all Torgali, as well as more neutral, warmer skin tones and softened features, likely due to generations of intermingling with the other Tok people of the world.
Since the native groups of Torgali have been more distinctly divided for ages, the Igali people mostly exist outside of native cultures. Those who do live in Torgalia are primarily from the Kartaki culture.

Common Features
BODY
Midweight [Soft, Medium, Brawny]
SKIN
Neutral, muted, warmer tones
FANGS
✤ Smallest of all Torgali, may even be hidden entirely
FACE
