Kartaki
Native Torgali Culture
The Kartaki live on and above the massive Kartakaum river delta that sources from the heart of Torgalia and travels northeast to the Edgelands. Made up primarily of the Mudfoot and Bridgewalker peoples, these two subcultures live hand in hand; respectively inhabiting the river basin below and a massive network of towers, each contributing to the better of the whole.
During ancient times their fertile and bountiful river valley brought disparate hunter-gatherer tribes from the greater jungle and consolidated them into the centralized region, now the most architecturally modernized region of the Torgali homeland.

Subcultures
Mudfoots
People who live amongst the densely-populated Kartakaum River Valley floor. The Mudfoots give thanks to the bounty of the mother of water, an intrinsically definitive aspect of their traditions. They have created fantastically impressive temples, shrines, and monuments to the glory of the Waamoava throughout their extensive history, and maintain them with pride.
Bridgewalkers
People who live amongst the densely-populated city of Kartakai. While all citizens of the city proper live on the Tangled Towers, each individual tower belongs to a dynastic organization (‘takai’), and the entire collective of towers makes up the city itself. Similar to the Mudfoots, the Bridgewalkers have learned to improve and maintain these awe-inspiring tower structures that have stood for thousands of years, a convoluted network of gravity-defying residences, workplaces, and community locations connected to each other by incredibly precipitous bridges and walkways. The Tangled Towers are no place for those with a fear of heights.
