Often difficult to track due to their primary residences in the lofty snow-covered mountain ranges, these birds of prey are about half the size of their Oaken Hawk cousins. When naturally molted, the subtle coloring of these birds’ leaves shifts and bends with the light like the colors of a silvery pearl. When plucked unwillingly, the bird leaves take on a dull grey coloring.
